A Learning:Teaching Method
Several years ago, a brilliant advisor (who many of thought was a little nuts) illustrated to me how we all think differently, so we all learn differently. My goal - my responsibility - is try to recognize how each person learns, so that when you leave a lesson, you truly understand what we've discussed and worked on. So, when we're working on a lesson, students are encouraged to speak-up, and ask as many questions as they need.

2010 Classes @Tom Thomson Art Gallery
Owen Sound & area high school students are going to create their own program, the goal of which will be to create a public piece of artwork. From conception through to completion the project will be entirely under the direction of these students.
As the program develops, you can check back here to watch teh proress.

Personal Works
(private lessons)
Learn to draw and paint better in five days!
I know, it comes off sounding like a hard-sell info-mercial, but it's not. There are a basic set of elements which every artist needs to understand, and practice; including line, shape, colour & perspective. Now, I'm not promising you'll be a famous artist in a week, but, you WILL know the basic skill sets, and the know-how to teach yourself how to continually get better.

Award Winning Programming
In October of 2009, David Huff (Education Director of the Tom Thomson Art Gallery) and I were awarded the 2008 Ontario Association of Art Galleries Art Educator Award for the ‘Port Project’ which was based on John Harman’s CITIES. The project involved classes from schools around the coast of Gray & Bruce. The project was was seen by more than 60, 000 people on the MS Chi-Cheemaun.

Programming Experience
In the last 8 years, I have had the opportunity to develop and teach programs for Kelowna CMHA, Okanogan-based Cool Arts (an adult community living initiative), Kelowna Parks and Recreation, Sheatre & the United Way, and continue to work with David Huff at The Tom Thomson Art Gallery.

Let's Build Something Cool
If you have a idea/concept you would like to develop into an experiential art program, I'd love to hear from you.
